Painting tips:

• A high-density sponge roller makes the base coat fast and clean. Keep it light so paint doesn't drip over the edges. A flat-edge brush also works well for the cow details.
• Paint the hats however you like — match them to your front door's color scheme or go bold with traditional holiday colors.
