    This year is going to be something truly different on mother’s day. I had to put my mom in total lockdown memory care. Her dementia really slid downhill due to the pandemic and not being able to interact with others for a long time. It was a hard year for any family with a loved one in long term care. Some days she knows who I am and other days she doe not. She talks to me like a friend most days and that’s ok as long as she is happy. I can be her daughter or her friend who came for a visit, it’s all good. I want her to be happy everyday and enjoy what time she has left. It is the fact she enjoys talking to me and laughing with me no matter who I am to her that day. This is my first stencil project, so I am a little nervous. I stenciled her a family tree with photos. I hope they help her remember that she does have family and who they are. Either way she will enjoy looking at the photos on the wall and they will make her smile even if she cannot remember who the pictures are. Happy Mother’s Day

    My mother-in-law passed away on Monday and she was truly an angel mother. She always remembered everyone’s birthday with a card so while she was in the hospital for 3 days probably knowing that she was at the end of her life, she asked for help to prepare birthday cards for every family member for the next year. Today I received mine and I’ll wait for my birthday next month to open it.
